Because moving air and cooling air are not the same thing. The blower can push plenty of air while a thermostat, outdoor unit, frozen coil, or refrigerant problem keeps the system from actually pulling heat out. That's the kind of thing we test on site instead of guessing at.
No. Turn cooling off and set the fan to on so the ice can thaw. Running a frozen system keeps cooling poorly, can make the problem worse, and makes the real cause harder to find. Once it thaws, we can check whether the culprit is airflow, a dirty filter, or the refrigerant side.
One reset is fine if it clearly tripped. If it trips again, stop. A breaker trips to protect the system and your home, and repeated resets can hide a failing motor, weak capacitor, or wiring fault and add real risk. If it keeps going, shut it off and call us.
